Letter to the Editor

Fred Upton has been in office 24 years. He has been a politician or political appointee his entire adult life.  He is one of the richest people in Congress.  During his time in office he has sponsored only 4 bills that have been made into law.  Fred brags that he never misses a vote.  True, he votes YES on commendations, honorariums and condolences.  However, he has voted NO on passage of every piece of major legislation for the past two years, including every Appropriations bill.  Upton's NO votes 2010 and 2009 include:

To the Editor

If you think the BP oil spill is a catastrophe, consider the consequences of a nuclear power plant explosion.  Radiation from Chernobyl (1986) is still floating around the world.

Fred Upton is known as the "godfather of nuclear power".  He has championed it for years and he wants to build another nuclear plant here in the 6th District.  He considers it his jobs program.  Fred Upton doesn't live here; he and his family live in Virginia.  Every resident within 10 miles of Palisades has been given potassium iodide in case of 'accident'. 

Accidents happen.   

Fred Upton has had one career for 24 years, US Representative. He has a great staff that helps individual constituents.  Fred signs the letters.  

But what has Rep. Fred Upton done for this District, for this Country?  Name one thing of consequence.
